Lenskart founder Peyush Bansal. Lenskart.com was launched by Peyush Bansal, an ex-Microsoft tech veteran. Peyush Bansal worked as a Program Manager in Microsoft Corporation during 2007 in United States. He returned to India and commenced a campus classifieds portal SearchMyCampus in January 2008,[3] which was later shutdown. In June 2008, he founded Valyoo Technologies that launched Lenskart in November 2010. Later, Lenskart opened brick and mortar stores across India and commenced its offline business segment.

Lenskart’s e-mail marketing campaign was included in the "honorable mention" in the "Create and Design - E-commerce" category at Marketing Sherpa Email Awards 2014.
